At MedExpress, we strive to make sure our team members have generous paid time off to take advantage of doing what they love outside of our centers. Additionally, teams in our centers can work flexible schedules – typically three twelve-hour shifts, leaving them with days throughout the week to recharge and have fun. In the spirit of taking advantage of some fun in the sun, several of our team members made the most of their time off and went on some great adventures this summer. Check out what fun they had!

“This summer, I was fortunate enough to travel down to North Carolina and explore the Land of Oz theme park. The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies, so it was so special being able to walk the yellow brick road and take in this one-of-a-kind experience.”

“For my son’s 18th birthday, I thought what better way to celebrate entering adulthood than jumping out of an airplane? My son and I took the leap, and at 14,000 feet in the air, we free fell at 120 mph. The experience was absolutely amazing and now we are working towards becoming licensed to parachute!”

Deborah Gillispie, Physician, Huntington, WV

“This summer, my daughter and I traveled to Iceland. We spent seven days touring both the southern and western regions. The landscape is absolutely beautiful and breathtaking there.”

“My summer adventure was a bit of a whirlwind! My now husband and I vacationed to Washington state and got married! We kept our engagement a secret and only told our close family. We got married at Tolmie State Park in Olympia and spent the remaining time traveling around Washington and Oregon for our honeymoon. From swimming and paddle boarding on the west coast to hiking rainforests and mountains, it was truly an amazing experience.”

“My family and friends went to Montego Bay and Negril in Jamaica! We enjoyed an all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay that had an incredible pool, delicious jerk chicken, music, and live shows. While there, we rode ATVs to the beach, watched the sunset at Rick's Café, and sailed on a party boat that took us snorkeling at Black Coral Alley and to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. This was our first-ever international couples’ trip and we made a lot of lasting memories that will be talked about in the years to come.”

“My husband and I traveled with family to Little Cayman Island. We spent a week on Little Cayman, enjoying the beautiful clear blue waters scuba diving and deep-sea fishing. It was a great week of relaxation!”

This summer, my team and I decided to take a ME family vacation. We traveled together to Austin, Texas and explored all that the city has to offer. We even stood on the Congress Bridge that houses over one million bats. People take a kayak down the river or line up near the bridge nightly just to catch a glimpse of them flying out. It was so cool to see!”

I was able to take my two daughters to Europe for a once-in-a-lifetime mother/ daughter trip. We spent time in Italy and Spain, but ended the trip with a week in the south of France with my exchange student’s family. To experience French culture, traditions, cooking, and local hot spots was the best part of the vacation.  Because of the time off that MedExpress offers I was able to take such a memorable trip. I will forever be grateful.”
